Teaching and Learning

The Department of Teaching and Learning in Palos 118 provides leadership and support for District 118 staff, students, and families so that all children can reach their full potential.

The department oversees the development, alignment, implementation, and assessment of learning standards in all subject areas. Much of this work includes but is not limited to, the adoption of curricular resources and supplemental materials, professional development for staff, the coordination, alignment, and evaluation of special programs, communicating assessment information to staff and families, supporting teachers in their work as Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), the integration of instructional technology, and making sure students have the necessary supports in place for intervention/acceleration.
