What do we know so far about the next generation of students? Our Generation Z students were born between 1996 and 2009 and are in grades 3-8 currently. They are one of the most diverse generations so far, are on track to become one of the best educated, and are dependent on technology for connecting with others, learning, and staying current with what is going on in the world. Because Generation Alpha are students who are still in pre-K through 2nd grade, we know less about them but can say for sure that they are digital natives who, like the neighboring Generation Z,  will continue to rely on technology as an integral part of their lives. While it's too early to say how, their formative years will most likely be defined by the COVID-19 pandemic.
